Skill Independent Visa ( Subclass 189)

For Skill Independent Visa , applications are by invitation only. To be invited to apply, a person must:

  • Submit an Expression of Interest
  • Have an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list
  • Have suitable skills assessment for that occupation
  • Be less than 50 years of age when the invitation is issued
  • Meet the English language requirements
  • Be able to score at least 60 on the points test

Expression of interest is submitted through Skill Select. This can be done from anywhere. If you are invited to apply for this visa you need to lodge an application within 60 days. Skill select has been designed to resolve the current skill shortages of Australia. You have to score 60 points in the following categories to get the visa.

            2nd Instalment:                      AUD4250
